Our second release of Bress Old Vine (Vieilles Vignes) Chablis
In turn, our vineyard and property manager Chris “Christophe” Freeman travelled to Chablis to undertake vintage at Domaine des Malandes, followed up by Adam travelling to blend the 2014 and 2015 wines.
The Bress 2015 Old Vine (Vieilles Vignes) Chablis was bottled and packaged in France, and arrived here in Australia last November. Some time in bottle has allowed the wine to rest, and we now believe it is ready to share with you.
The relatively short and warmer growing season compared with 2014, produced Chardonnay fruit in 2015 with superb flavour and low acidity. Made from 60 year old vines, our resultant wine has expressed these characters in a considered manner exhibiting the Bress hallmarks of complexity, structure and the ability to enjoy presently yet with the capacity to age for six or more years in sound conditions.
This collaboration has not only given us a simply beautiful product to share with you, it has also resulted in greater cultural and winemaking awareness for both families, not to mention long lasting friendships.
